The Youth Justice Advocates is a coalition that shares a vision for a safer and healthier New Orleans - one where every child has an equal opportunity to thrive. We are a group of organizations and community members who work on behalf of children in New Orleans’ communities, schools, and legal system.

WE DID IT! 🎉 

Louisiana voters made their voices heard loud and clear: we care about our youth, and we will NOT stand for them being funneled into adult courts, jails, and prisons. The vote to strike down Constitutional Amendment 3 was a huge win for our kids and for the future of youth justice in Louisiana!

Jail time is unhealthy for kids’ developing brains. Youth that have been incarcerated are more likely to end up back in the system and the underlying issues that led to incarceration are never resolved. Kids deserve healing and not punishment.
